This place is not for someone who thinks the Hampton Inn is a dive. It is unique, and eclectic. Joseph, one of the owners, was very accommodating. We liked the location, and the homey feeling. There were a couple of little hiccups during our stay, but we like quirky. I expect to stay here again. BTW, a couple of the overly critical reviews should be discounted as having been written by humorless folks.

While this hotel was around the corner from the main historic street, it served our purposes. All we needed was a place to rest in the afternoon and sleep at night. This was just right. We booked the History Room, and while the place had a quirky decorating style, it was clean and took care of our basic needs. If you want the Hot Springs "experience," you probably won't like the The B Inn. If you just want a place to be home-base while you explore the area, then, by all means, The B Inn is the place to be.

Very friendly staff and were very accommodating. We enjoyed how each room came with a $10 food voucher that you could use at their very good and healthy restaurant/ market there on the motel grounds. The rooms were novelty and old fashioned, they weren't posh by any means but we weren't expecting the such. If you want a hotel with some character then i'd recommend The B inn.

We liked this hotel. From the street it looks like it could be one of those sketchy dive motels with prostitutes and drug dealers and such but no! The rooms are pretty nice (could use some improvement but not bad) and the prices are right too. You get a $10 credit at the organic market up front for breakfast. The prices at the market are wonderfully affordable for organic. Plus you are seriously close to historic downtown in the Hot Springs National Park which is great. We're planning another trip to Hot Springs soon for our anniversary and will be staying here again.

We stayed for one night at the rustic room and our stay was very comfortable. We got a 10 dollar credit towards the purchase at the market cafe downhill and for that we had two bagels, walnut bread, cookie and a muffin. You will have to checkin at the market cafe. This is on downtown and very clise to the hot springs national park and the bathrow. We totally enjoyed our stay and we will come back again.

Absolutely. Awful. We booked 2 nights in September but couldn't stay the 2nd because the gentlemen in the room next door woke us up before 6am screaming about how they couldn't STAND it anymore, and eff this and eff that and slamming shit into the walls. I called the manager, Joseph, early the next morning to let him know we weren't comfortable staying the 2nd night. He agreed to refund the 2nd night without much persistence which I thought was pretty cool, at first; I asked him what proof I could obtain to confirm the refund, and he curtly said that he just WOULD, and I should send him an email the next Monday to remind him. We then stopped by the little food mart that Joseph was pulling a shift at, just so I could return my key and have him put a face to a name. He again agreed to the refund, and gave me his card. Fast forward, it has been 3 weeks and guess what no refund. Surprise surprise.. I have called and emailed several times each week. The first 2 emails i sent from a different account, each, and got no reply. The next 2 I sent out were bounced back to me. I never got called back. Joseph finally quit taking my calls, and from the 2nd week on I was only able to get a hold of Armando, who doesn't speak English very well, and lastly Amanda. Both took my number down and said that they would pass the message along. I almost got some hope back when I got a hold of Amanda, but no... no call from Joseph, and no refund. I've never disputed a charge before on my card, and they forced me to be one of those dholes. .. but they were dholes first, and I find it insanely unprofessional to tell someone you will refund them, then you make them chase you down for almost a month, and then dont even honor the refund. This was my first experience with Arkansas. How nice. I dont even care that the room (history room) was pretty gross and the door wasn't even sealed properly and the fridge was lukewarm and there were stains every where. That's not "rustic," that's lack of upkeep, people. I just wanted my goddamn refund, and was met with an unprofessional, curt attitude.

Sketchiest hotel I've ever stayed in. I booked the room on hostels.com . Payed a down payment for the room. Arrived at The address provided which was actually the cafe next door. I walked over to the inn- no one in the office. Called the number on the door and after ten minutes the owner showed up. He had no record of my reservation and took me to an entirely different location. Gave me a choice of two separate rooms. The first smelled like a meth lab, the second was filthy. After paying for the room I seriously questioned whether or not to stay in it. Sketchy characters around and shady things going down. For what I payed for this room I could've done better.

We thought the B inn was a great place to stay. Joseph went out of his way to take care of our needs, going as far as making sure we had a coffee pot. The inn is at the end of a busy downtown street so it was nice to be able to just walk out our door and head downtown. The rooms were clean, eclectic and just the type of space we like. If you are a chain hotel type of person then this place is not for you. Next time we are in Hot Springs we will stay at the B Inn. Thanks Joseph for taking such good care of us!

We stayed here for a single night on very short notice (same day reservation with check in around 10pm). I read all the reviews here so I was kind of prepared for what I was getting into. The owner was very accommodating considering our last minute, late plans, and we appreciated it. We were just passing through, and made a detour off of I30 specifically to check out Hot Springs briefly. At night, in the dark, (and maybe during the daylight too), the main house looks spooky and haunted. According to their website, this was once the home of the town pharmacist. It must have been beautiful at one time. Sure enough, and old, arthritic dog was sleeping on the lawn when we pulled in. He didn't bark, and is obviously used to lots of coming and going of strangers. The gentleman in the office asked for cash, "but if you don't have any, we can accept credit but we'll have to charge you extra for taxes." He showed us our room, and was very nice. The rooms are shabby at best and the decor certainly stimulates conversation. It is anything but tasteful. BUT, we found everything very clean, and it was totally fine for us. A binder in the room tells you what you need to know about the place, including the fact that "we don't accept cash", and that they have free wifi, which works best if you sit by the front window (which I did and it still was too weak a signal for me to connect). Interesting side note about our stay in Hot Springs: The hot springs water (which comes out of the earth at about 140 degrees F) provides the public water supply for the entire city...so the water in the toilet bowl actually steams your backside as you sit. Kinda weird...I guess the people who live there get used to it. Add it to the experience with the haunted house and the old dog and the bust of the pharaoh in our room, and we have some funny memories to take home with us :-) Note that this place does not provide a phone in the room, a hair dryer, little bottles of shampoo and conditioner, etc - so come prepared. They do provide a little bar of "locally made, hand-crafted, all-in-one soap and shampoo" which actually smells very nice and does the job. I noticed in one review a complaint that the shower head was too low. I am 6 ft tall and the shower head in our room was plenty high enough, so that must depend on the room you get. There is a coffee maker and everything you need to make coffee. Basket of yogurt, fruit, string cheese, bagels, muffins, breakfast bars delivered to your door by a polite gentleman in the morning. Mr Dog is there to greet you. I sat in a chair outside the room for a few minutes in the morning, and he came and plopped down at my feet after passing wind - which turned out to be quite an olfactory experience. All in all, we found this to be somewhat of an adventure. The proximity to bathhouse row and downtown was very convenient, the accommodations were friendly and clean, and the price ($50 plus tax cuz we didn't have cash which they officially don't take but unofficially will accept) for a double room was particularly delightful.

Just don't stay here. It is not worth the savings. It is not clean, the carpet reeks of perfumed 'freshener" that must be trying to cover up the funk. the beds are cheap and uncomfortable, the door just has a handle twist lock and no dead bolt, the jumble of cheap sad furniture is not kitchy cool but just crummy, there is only over head light, there is no place to hang a towel at the sink and the cheap shower curtain billows at you sticking to your body as you shower. The property is not well kept. It is just a dump really. If you really need to save money, you could find a worse place but it is just not worth it for most of us.

I booked here because I was primarily concerned with cleanliness and price. Even though I'd read that they were accommodating for late arrivals, I wanted to speak to someone about it. I called the day I booked (online) which was a day before my arrival but I got a voicemail saying they'd call back in a minute or two. Being that it was a Sunday, I wasn't shocked that I didn't get a call back. I called three times on Monday before I reached someone who was very nice and friendly and said that my late check-in would be okay and instructed me to call when I arrived. By the time we arrived it was very late and we'd been on the road for fifteen hours. I called the number and someone picked up the phone. I could hardly understand the person on the line. It sounded like he had his hand covering his mouth. I asked where our room was but each time he tried to tell me, his speech became less and less clear, I could only pick up on what he was saying largely based on context. I asked if I could speak to someone in person, that idea was upsetting to him as he explained that he had to get up to go to work. As I got out of my car to look around, we got disconnected. That was the last I heard of him for my entire stay, unless he was the guy who waved as we were walking by the cafe. I found the room and it was indeed clean and it had books in it. It was cramped though and the bathroom sink is not in the bathroom, it's on the other side of the wall, so that was weird. They provided a little bag that was to be hung on the door to alert housekeeping not to bother except to bring breakfast. We hung the bag on the door every day but never had our breakfast brought to the room, I don't know what that was all about. Each day we ended up going down to the cafe for the continental breakfast which was absolutely wonderful. The food was delicious as was the coffee. They did bring spring water to the room and the WiFi worked fine for me. There was no smoking for which I'm glad, we spent a ton of time on the porch which was nice because the wisteria was blooming. My friend and I usually camp when we're in Arkansas, so all we were looking for was a decent place to lay our heads. We never had the intention of spending much time in the room anyway. The B Inn was interesting and it's obvious that the owners are well intentioned. I'm certain that when they complete the remodel it will be perfectly lovely. The main house is pretty creepy looking but there are a bunch of buildings in the area that have fallen into disrepair, the owners seem to be committed to bringing it back to life. I'd probably stay there again but I don't think my friend would.

My wife and I came for a weekend in Hot Springs. The manager was helpful in accommodating our late arrival on Friday night. The room, the "Romantic Literature Room", was the size of a typical hotel room but had a small kitchenette with stove, microwave, and dorm fridge. Not much in the way of kitchenware or dishes in the kitchen so we couldn't have made much use of it if we'd wanted to. The bathroom was TINY. At the commode my shoulders could touch both walls and in the shower when I was backed all the way against the back wall the shower head was inches from my face. TINY. (I'm not a huge guy. Granted, I ain't tiny, but I'm not in horrible shape.) The bed wasn't terribly comfortable, but after a day walking downtown it was good enough. Having said that, the room was obviously old and yet it was very clean and in good repair, my number one requirement for lodging. So overall I was happy with the room. The goodie basket brought to us in the morning had plenty of stuff in it. If you weren't looking for a full meal you could easily get through the entire day with just what was in there. Juices, water, packaged snacks, yogurt, fruit, donuts/pastries. And the welcoming party - an old, overweight, arthritic looking dog - came down to say hi and help us move in. A nice guy and obviously trained to not come in the rooms. He was at the door each morning to see us off for the day, too. The great thing about this place was the fact that the price was reasonable for any lodging, but especially so for a place that is close enough to downtown that we left the car at the room and walked around Hot Springs all day and over to Central Park Fusion Cuisine for dinner and were quite comfortable to do so.

I chose this place based on price ...and the few amenities that it listed. The B Inn is ok if you arent expecting too much, it's basically a place to lay your head. The beds were a bit too soft for me but my son thought his was just fine. The bathroom floor was plagued with dry rot underneath the linoleum and I though the toilet might fall through when sat upon. We stayed in the History Room. If I have any advise for the owners/ decorators of this place, I'd say, clear out the clutter! Large Potted plants (not necessary) can be replaced by valet racks or side tables so tennants dont have to place their belongings on the floor. Clear out the books and book shelves as well. They gather dust and mold. The room made me feel claustrophobic with all the stuff crammed into it. I understand what they are trying to accomplish here, but a library where tennants can pick a book and take it back to their room would be so much better. When using the wi fi, I was told that I should "sit by the door when using so it would work"??? really....it helped, but I would have been much more comfortable sitting at the table in the room, thanks The mineral water, REAL coffee and light breakfast brought to your door in the morning were nice little touches. There seemed to be other folks hanging about the office and premises who did not seem to be employed there, renting rooms or the owners of the place and that made me feel a bit uncomfortable, especially since the may have had access to my credit card info!! My advise would be to spend a bit extra and stay somewhere else...live n' learn. It wasnt totally awful, but I wouldnt stay there again.

Overall: it's cute, with a decent bed, great folks, and a really, really tiny bathroom. The Good: The linens throughout the room - bed and bathroom - were nice. Not lovely, but nice. The bed had a quilt on it, and the decor in the bedroom is charming (two velvet, high-backed chairs, blackout curtains, lovely, full pillows, sleigh bed, rich side table, and dresser, four unique paintings on the wall, etc). There is a TV, of course, but no room phone. The mini-kitchen comes with a microwave, sink, stove, oven, minimal cookware, flatware, and silverware, and the mini-fridge works. The B Inn has LOTS of activities: you can tour the old house, they'll take you on a walking tour of downtown and show you where the national park peeks through, they'll show you where a local swimming hole is, and they'll even give great recommendations for dining. The breakfast that they bring around in the morning is awesome (two pastries - we got a huge muffin and two mini bagels - two orange juices, two yogurts, two apples, two cheese sticks, cream cheese, and a v8 fusion). We were out when they brought it by, and it was waiting for us in the mini fridge! Here, they've got all sorts of ways to be green: they'll leave your sheets for you and just tidy up, they've got recycle bins all over, they have a compost pile on the property, and a beautiful fig tree out front! The location is killer: you can walk downtown EASILY and not have to feed the meters. The Bad: Well, as nice as the room itself is, the AC doesn't come close to cooling the whole room (but it was 100+ outside). It seems to run on water or something, and it's pretty loud the entire time it's on. The bathroom.. is a tiny little shoebox. The shower is definitely for one person only, the only place to put shampoo and the like is on the top ledge, the shower head is VERY low (I'm 5'5 and I had to duck to rinse out my hair), and the faucet seems to be constantly dripping. The toilet is crammed between two walls, so it's not ideal. The sink works, but it is small and there is hardly any counter space. In all, I've had a better bathroom experience at a Super 8. The front door seems really flimsy as far as locks go, and it's definitely not sealed to keep out the heat, or in the cold. (Reverse for winter!) There is WiFi here, but you have to sit near the front window, and it's not very reliable.

I've stayed two nights in the World Religion room. The bed is comfortable and the sheets are soft. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. I love the themed rooms. Very reasonable rates. I do wish that there was a bath tub instead of just a shower. There aren't very many channels on the tv, not that I mind but some people might.

I've stayed at the B Inn several times now, and I'm a fan. I'm charmed by the location, the campy rooms and the people who run the Inn. A lot of thought goes into making a stay an experience, and it's not always perfection. I like having books around and am not put off by mismatched furniture or decor. It was completely clean and the owners deliver a filling Continental breakfast to your door each day. Our room had nice soaps and towels and plenty of spring water. If you enjoy the Four Seasons, you won't enjoy the B. But if you are a reverse snob sort of person who resents paying top dollar when you are out hiking or sightseeing all day, you will like coming home to the B. It is within walking distance to town and hiking trails. The owners are eco conscious and are working on the rooms and the large home as money and time permits. Share in the process and progress by giving the B a try!

First of all, I understand that you get what you pay for, and we only paid 65 for this room, but our stay was absolutely terrible. After arriving to the room, my husband and I walked across the floor and our socks were soaked. We examined the floor and noticed about a 4-5 foot radius of drenched carpet. We had to walk around the buildings to find a business card because there is no office with staff readily available to help. When we contacted the owner or manager, Joseph per his card, he informed us that some spring water had spilt on the floor. There was no bottle nor was there an empty container of water anywhere to be found. He came and examined the floor for himself and still said it had to be water. He stated that there were no other rooms for us to be moved to and he refused to accommodate us in any other way. He actually interrupted us several times when we tried to express our concern of the unknown substance on our floor and he explained that he had been at work all day and had to get up early the next morning. He also advised us that we are more than welcome to find another place to stay on such short notice and good luck. We felt completely disrespected by ownership/management during this visit. There was also a large ant in our bed. We understand that sometimes ants get in, but instead of apologizing about the bed and providing new sheets like any customer service personal should do, he simply told us that it wasn't a roach and there are woods around us and in that atmosphere "gods creatures" are to be expected.

Location! Location! Location! You cannot beat the price. I love staying here. Now it's not for everyone...quite quirky, but like they advertise...it's very unique and very clean and you can walk to everything. I mean you are right downtown and can park your car in front of your room and be on the hiking trails in minutes or at one of the great restaurants like Central Park right downtown just across their parking lot! This inn's owners have regular jobs, but one of the many of the owners is always there and busy fixing the place up. It does need some fixing and I don't think I would pick this place for business or a honeymoon, I would pay a little extra and find something with more staff. They have no real office, but they answer their cell phones quickly and send someone over if you need more towels. The free WI FI and cable worked well. The inn is part of a larger project of restoring homes in the neighborhood, so the little money I spent went to a good cause. I always felt real safe though it's in the middle of downtown and across from some closed hotels. For only paying 56, I will be back soon to this peculiar yet peaceful inn before everyone discovers it. Love the way friendly outdoor dog too.

I arrived with my dog, and wondered if I made a wrong decision when drove up to the B INN. I followed the signs and it lead me to the store, Central Park. I meet the owner Joseph and knew I made the right decision. Unfortunately, the room I reserved was not ready, but he gave me another room. "The Big Room." I walked in and I was in awe....BEAUTIFUL! CLEAN! COMFORTABLE! Additionally, the INN also provides a 10% discount with one of the most popular Bath house/Spa's in Hot Springs. It was such a pleasant experience that I went back the next day! Breakfast was incredible. I would get up early and walk to the Store front to get breakfast. I had a choice of what every I wanted and it was from local farms and bagels shipped in from New York. One night, my kitchen light went out and Joseph took no time at all to take care of it. Armando was also very delightful and friendly. This will definitely be a place I will returned to stay when visiting Hot Springs. Thank you for such a relaxing experience!
(5)Flore S.
It looks really strange at first but its a great place if you're passing through. Clean room, they made an effort to make their motel rooms decoration and very good price! Also they are part of the " free water" group, to make the hot spring water accessible for everybody and that's a good cause!!!

I too stayed in the HistoryRoom and agree with those comments. However, I was utterly charmed by this place.
